Republicans still have not cut a single dime from the bloated federal budget under the leadership of new House Speaker Mike Johnson. Nor have they bothered to even start impeachment proceedings against Joe Biden or members of his cabinet who have been committing treason against the United States. They did finally accomplish something on Friday, however. 105 House Republicans crossed the aisle and voted with Democrats to expel Rep. George Santos (R-NY) from Congress.
Most of us wish very much by now that Republicans in Congress would spend as much time and effort fighting the Democrats as they spend fighting our own side. What exactly did they get out of giving up a congressional seat today? We’ll get to that in a minute.
George Santos infuriated the establishment by running his 2022 political campaign as if he were a Democrat. He ran for the same House seat in 2020, but the race was stolen from him (there was a lot of that going around in 2020). So, in 2022, George Santos ran his race using the exact same tactic that literally every Democrat uses. He lied about his background.
During every single campaign experience, George Santos claimed that his background mirrored that of whatever audience he was speaking to. If he spoke in front of a black audience, he claimed he was part black. If he spoke in front of a Jewish group, he claimed to be part Jewish. He used to be gay. He used to be trans. He used to be whatever he needed to be to win over the voters. George Santos took the “when in Rome” concept from the Apostle Paul to brand-new heights.
And this is no different than any Democrat does all the time. Six weeks ago, Joe Biden gave a speech in which he claimed he was raised in a Puerto Rican barrio. The week after that, he claimed he was raised in a Jewish synagogue.
Many Republicans in Congress are such cowards that they would rather “lose with honor” than get their hands dirty. That’s not cutting it anymore! The Democrats now show up for every fight with a knife, while Republicans insist that they are only willing to use Marquess of Queensbury rules.
It’s infuriating that 105 Republicans would cross the aisle to kick George Santos out of office. Let’s review some of the things Republicans have not done since they took power at the start of 2023.
They did note expel Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) from Congress. Unlike George Santos, Jamaal Bowman is now a convicted criminal. He pleaded guilty to pulling a fire alarm to interrupt official business of Congress. Which, by the way, counts as insurrection.
The House GOP has never voted to expel Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from Congress. Omar has been proven to have committed marriage fraud, immigration fraud, student loan fraud, and tax fraud. She might be the biggest criminal to ever hold a seat in Congress, just in terms of the sheer number of crimes that she has committed. Can’t expel her!
Republicans have not impeached DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. There are 70,000 Americans dying from fentanyl poisoning every year thanks to Mayorkas’ refusal to close the border. We don’t even know the number of Americans who are being raped or murdered by illegal aliens that Mayorkas has let in. But please, House GOP, please tell us how awful George Santos is.
Republicans have not impeached Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. He has presided over the gutting of the US military via his transgender activism, vaccine mandates, and openly hostile attitude toward conservatives.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s job is safe from House Republicans too. This is despite the fact that the Russians or Chinese are derailing trains and blowing up infrastructure inside the country on an almost daily basis.
Joe Biden has taken at least $50 million in bribes from Ukraine, Russia, and China over the course of his grifting career. House Republicans have all the evidence they need to prove that Biden is most likely acting as a paid operative for China, which would be treason. Yet the only thing that Republicans are willing to do is hold meetings talking about the vague possibility that one day, they might impeach Joe Biden. Maybe.
George Santos had the most conservative, America First voting record out of the entire 2022 class of incoming House freshmen. Great job getting rid of him, GOP! We’re sure that when New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) picks his replacement, that person will be just as conservative as George Santos. While you’re at it, why don’t you kick a few more Republicans out of Congress, so that Hakeem Jeffries can become the new House Speaker under a Democrat majority?
