One of the top leftist priorities is destroying the 2nd amendment, but even if they succeed with that they KNOW how difficult it will be to get patriotic Americans to part with their guns which they purchased LEGALLY, so they’re trying to make sure that people can’t get the ammunition to use them.
One of the ways they’re doing this is trying to price people out of even being able to afford ammunition and Democrats in one state are piloting a new legislation which seeks to do exactly that – while, all too conveniently, raking in more money for the government.
Democrats in Washington are fighting to add an 11 percent sales tax on ALL ammo purchases, saying that Americans looking to buy rounds need to pay for the “privilege” of being to buy ammo.
Of course, government agencies stocking up on rounds would NOT have to pay this so-called privilege tax.
The Democrats have deployed their usual emotional appeal tactics to try and advance this radical subversion of the American people’s rights.
State Representatives My-Linh Thai and Liz Berry actually wrote in the bill that “Gun violence remains a persistent health and safety threat for people across our state. In Washington, a person is killed by a firearm every 14 hours and nearly half of all suicides are from firearms.”
They then go on to try and make the delusional argument that the 11 percent tax would solve this.
“A use tax is levied on every person in this state for the privilege of using ammunition as a consumer at the rate of 11 percent of the selling price.”
If that doesn’t happen on the 11 percent, then the Democrats will simply continue raising the number until its high enough to prevent Americans from being able to afford ammunition.
If deemed to be successful, this ammo tax would be rolled out in blue state after blue state before eventually infiltrating conservative states.
But perhaps the most troubling aspect of this is the economic impact it would have on ammo manufacturers who could be driven out of business thanks to the reduced sales they would face.
And don’t think for one minute that this is the only way Democrats are waging war against ammunition.
New York Attorney General Letitia James led a coalition of left-wing AGs from 20 states to demand that the Biden Regime halt the sale of 5.56 caliber rounds to civilians, specifically by Missouri-based supplier Lake City.
“Billions of rounds of military-grade ammunition manufactured at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant have been sold on the commercial market, leading to their use in many of the most tragic mass shootings in recent history,” the AGs stated.
“We ask your Office to conduct an investigation into the contracting processes that led to this situation, and to take action to ensure that military-grade and military-subsidized ammunition stays out of civilian hands,” they added.
The Democrats are trying to take away your ability to defend yourself through whatever means possible and they won’t stop until they’ve succeeded.
