Massie is One Signature Away from Forcing Trump’s Hand with the Epstein Files

If there’s one thing that terrifies Washington more than a budget deadline, it’s the prospect of Jeffrey Epstein’s dirty laundry getting aired out on the House floor. And thanks to Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie, we’re just one pen stroke away from that nightmare becoming reality.

Massie’s discharge petition to force the Justice Department to release every Epstein document they’ve been hiding like a national treasure has now racked up 217 signatures. That’s just one shy of the magic 218 needed to trigger a full House vote—no permission slip from leadership required. It’s a political grenade with the pin halfway pulled, and the countdown clock is ticking.

The latest signature comes from—brace yourself—a Democrat. Virginia Rep. James Walkinshaw, fresh off his special election win, wasted no time signing on. He was literally sworn in and then said, “Where’s the petition?” before his hand was warm from the oath. You’ve got to appreciate the hustle—Walkinshaw didn’t even unpack his office before throwing shade at Trump and jumping into the Epstein muck.

He called the petition “the only mechanism to circumvent that ironclad control that Donald Trump has over my Republican colleagues.” Translation: “I’m terrified this thing is going to pass, so I’m pretending it’s all Trump’s fault.” Classic.

But let’s talk about the real reason this matters: the bipartisan panic. You’ve got Republicans like Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Nancy Mace signing on and refusing to back down, even under heavy pressure from the White House. That’s not politics as usual—that’s a rebellion. If this were a movie, we’d be in the third act, right before the big reveal.

And don’t forget: this isn’t some fringe bill about renaming post offices. We’re talking about documents tied to a convicted sex offender with a Rolodex full of billionaires, royals, and—allegedly—plenty of powerful politicians. The kind of people who don’t just donate to campaigns; they buy silence. The kind of people who don’t get their names listed in press releases—they get buried in sealed court filings.

If this petition hits 218, it forces a vote. And if the vote passes, the DOJ has to cough up what they’ve been sitting on for years. That includes names, flight logs, emails, photos—whatever they’ve got on Epstein’s twisted empire. That sound you hear? It’s the collective jaw-clenching of every powerbroker from Manhattan to Malibu.

Now, House Majority Leader Mike Johnson is trying to downplay the whole thing, claiming it’s “symbolic” because Republicans already passed a resolution asking the Oversight Committee to keep investigating. Sure, Mike. And I symbolically asked the IRS to stop taxing me, but here we are. A resolution is like a strongly worded letter; this petition is a legal crowbar.

Even House Rules Chairwoman Virginia Foxx isn’t playing interference. Her committee could technically block the petition from reaching the floor, but she’s made it clear she won’t. That’s one less escape hatch for the swamp creatures.

And with another Democrat expected to win the late Rep. Raúl Grijalva’s Arizona seat on September 23, the 218th signature is practically guaranteed. That’s the final domino. Once it falls, it’s game on.

So ask yourself: Who’s sweating the most right now? Is it the Clintons? The Hollywood elite? Former intelligence officials? Or maybe some lawmakers whose names just might be lurking in those files?

When the lights flip on in this roach motel, we’re all about to see who’s been scurrying in the shadows.
