Germany to Hold Do-Over Election After “Complete Systemic Failure”

“US states cannot hold do-over elections.” That is the ridiculous assertion that you’ve probably heard a gazillion times since the you-know-what happened in 2020. There’s just absolutely nothing that can be done in the wake of widespread fraud in a presidential contest. We just have to suck it up and live under a fraudulent rulership. The price of gas shot up overnight by $1.30 per gallon last week, but that’s just the price of having no more mean tweets. The fact is that civilized states can and do hold do-over elections if widespread “irregularities” happen. It’s about to happen in Germany in a few days.

Widespread problems in the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region means that the entire city will be holding a do-over election. Last year’s national elections in Germany were plagued with problems. They had fewer problems than we saw in the 2020 election in Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, Maine, Virginia and Oregon, but still. They’re holding a do-over election in Germany.

Some election “professionals” on TV have even gone so far as to claim that we can’t hold do-over elections in American states because it would just be too hard. You can’t hold a do-over with millions of voters!

But Berlin-Brandenburg has a population of 6.2 million residents. That is greater than the populations of 33 US states, Puerto Rico, Washington DC, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa and the Northern Mariana Islands. If Germany can hold a do-over election for an area with 6.2 million residents, it’s certainly doable in any American state.

Germany’s Constitutional Court (their version of our Supreme Court) declared last week that the September 2021 election in Berlin-Brandenburg was a “complete systemic failure.” The court also declared that the city and region would need to hold a total do-over election, since it’s impossible to know just how badly the election was botched.

Try not to laugh out loud when you hear the problems that were so awful in a civilized country like Germany that it’s forcing them to hold a do-over election. Spoiler alert: Germany problems pale in comparison to what happened the swing states here in the US in 2020.

First, lots of polling places in the city kept running out of paper ballots. For those who don’t remember what that’s like, “paper ballots” are what real countries use, combined with in-person voting, to conduct elections. (Germans are also required to present ID to vote, unlike some countries that are full of unsophisticated and superstitious savages who don’t know how to get an ID.) Some polling stations were shut down for approximately 83 cumulative hours across the city during the elections, due to paper ballot shortages. Many voters left in frustration because of the delays.

Second, almost half of the polling stations stayed open after 6 p.m., when the polls are supposed to close. You see, in Germany, they have something called an “Election Day.” This means that the voting takes place on a specific DAY. Not after that day. This can be confusing for Americans, where we inexplicably allow ballots to begin materializing for up to five days after our version of Election Day, until it swings the results in a desired direction. (Looking at you, Pennsylvania!)

Third, election clerks did such a poor job of cataloguing all the ballot shortages and polling stations staying open late that it’s impossible to actually determine the full number of irregularities that took place. They don’t know how many people didn’t vote because they left early in frustration. They don’t know how many voted illegitimately, after the polls were supposed to close.

Wait, that’s it? That’s all it took for Germany’s highest court to order a do-over election? They didn’t have 110% voter turnout in the city’s nursing homes, like we had in Wisconsin? They didn’t have more than a hundred thousand voters in the city who couldn’t be tied to an actual address, like we had in Arizona? They didn’t kick poll watchers for one party out of the vote counting centers, like we had in Michigan? They didn’t have election workers pulling magic suitcase ballots out from under a table and ramming them through counting machines four or five times each after observers had been sent home for the night, like we had in Georgia?

Nope. They didn’t have any of those problems in Germany. The Germans must have had one of the safest and most secure elections ever! And yet somehow, they’re holding a do-over election.
