Most Republican politicians are just so pathetic and disappointing. The party in power is about to arrest its main political opponent in the 2024 election next week, and most Republicans are clutching their bow ties and shouting, “Well, I never!”
Or even worse, they’re going to their old standby of calling the Democrats hypocrites. Yeah, that’ll show ‘em. Maybe send a strongly-worded letter while you’re at it, guys.
Establishment Republicans backed away from President Trump like cowards when the obvious Russia hoax was going on, and they’re doing it again. One of the only exceptions is Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY).
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and the Oversight Committee are demanding that the tubby and corrupt Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg turn over all documents in the fake Stormy Daniels case, and that Bragg come to DC and testify. Even if Bragg complies, does everyone understand what will happen?
Committee Republicans will yell at Bragg and then send out fundraising letters about how they’re “holding Democrats accountable” and need another check from you to keep doing what they’re doing. Democrats will coddle Bragg on the committee, and Bragg will scoff and yell back at Republicans, and then their side will send out fundraising letters claiming that they need more cash so they can hold the “radical MAGA Republicans” at bay.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump gets arrested and possibly “Epsteined” in jail, and we lose our country. Or, they lock him up like a January 6er and a liberal judge denies him bail, and they keep him in a cell until after the 2024 election. Would you really put it past these people to stoop that low at this point?
And all of you folks holding out hope that Gov. Ron DeSantis could just step in and replace Trump if that happens, what are you thinking? As soon as Ron DeSantis comes within 3 polling points of Joe Biden, he’ll be in a cell right next to Donald Trump. If they can falsely railroad a former president, do you really think a sitting governor scares these people? They’ll just make up a charge against Ron DeSantis like they did with Trump. “Ron DeSantis is opposed to teaching kindergartners about fisting! Lock him up!”
That’s how this works when things get this bad in a banana republic.
Senator Rand Paul gets it. He knows what time it is. I have to say, I’m thoroughly impressed by the steel in Sen. Paul’s spine in this instance. When it became official that Alvin Bragg was going to step away from the all-you-can-eat buffet to indict Trump, Rand Paul tweeted:
“A Trump indictment would be a disgusting abuse of power. The DA should be put in jail.”
Amen! That is how Republicans should be fighting back. They bring a knife; we bring a gun. As Andrew Breitbart once said, “Punch back twice as hard.”
Here are some other things Republicans could do immediately to put a stop to this, if they had stones the size of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
Zero out all federal funding for the State of New York until Alvin Bragg is removed from office and his frivolous, nonexistent case against a former president and current presidential candidate is thrown out. And I mean ALL federal funding. Roads, schools, social security checks for retirees. Zero it all out. If New York doesn’t want to be a part of America any longer, by upending the justice system in such a ridiculous manner, then New Yorkers are no longer Americans and get no federal taxpayer money at all.
How long do you think it would be before retirees and teacher unions would be outside Bragg’s office with pitchforks and torches? 30 seconds tops?
Next, in every red state where Hunter Biden has ever set foot, the Attorney General should issue an immediate arrest warrant for him. And do it on serious, life-ending charges like narcotics trafficking and sex trafficking, which he’s absolutely guilty of. Tell Joe Biden the charges will be dropped if he stops the political persecution of Donald Trump.
ANY Republican attorney general could do this today, but instead, they’re all too afraid to fight. Sex trafficking and narcotics trafficking are not just federal crimes. Most red states make those illegal too, so go after Hunter Biden hard.
I don’t know who Trump is ultimately going to pick for his vice president running mate (assuming they don’t “Epstein” him in jail), but Rand Paul’s stock has just risen in my view. We need fighters to lead this movement, not people who will call for hearings or investigations. Elected Republicans need to understand that they’re going to be jailed next if they don’t fight back against this. Rand Paul gets it.

The sentiments are easy to agree with, but the “solution” is unconstitutional and this person should know that. Nobody but Congress has the authority to “zero out” funding for anything, and that has to be done by the democratic process. If you want to be taken seriously by the public, why don’t you try offering serious solutions to real problems instead of spouting lunatic theories on how government works.
