For anyone who thinks it’s “bad for democracy” or that the Republican Party is in “shambles” right now because of the fight happening in the House of Representatives: Do you realize how silly you sound like now? This is the greatest thing to happen in American politics since the night that Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016! As of this writing, Kevin McCarthy has lost five straight votes in a row for the position of House Speaker. Talk about shaking things up!
Breitbart and Fox News are both breaking out in a flop sweat right now at the idea that Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) might not become Speaker of the House. It’s hilarious! Kevin McCarthy’s roommate – liberal pollster Frank Luntz – was spotted at the House on Wednesday. He was no doubt there to provide moral and emotional support to his BFF Kevin. (Hey, has anybody ever asked mister “conservative values” McCarthy why he lives in Frank Luntz’s spare bedroom, instead of with Mrs. McCarthy and their two kids?)
The fact is that the 20 or so holdouts who are preventing McCarthy from becoming Speaker are refusing to vote for him because they are the ones who are in step with the majority of conservative voters in the USA. Fox News is so apoplectic that a host just called Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) a “swamper” and a “RINO.”
Yes, we know that Donald Trump has endorsed McCarthy. But the fact that the 20 holdouts are keeping McCarthy out of the Speaker’s chair is only proof that the MAGA students have surpassed the master. Trump is the leader of the voters’ movement. He’s not THE movement.
We’re in a fight for the heart and soul of what America is going to be in the coming decades. Are we going to be a communist hell hole that keeps falling apart at a faster rate every day? Or are our best days ahead of us, because we’re going to stand and fight?
Kevin McCarthy is not a guy who can lead this fight to preserve America. He’s just not. Read this quote from Kevin McCarthy, dated January 7, 2021, and ask yourself whether this is a guy who really knows what time it is in America:
“That doesn’t mean the president is free from fault. The president bears responsibility for Wednesday’s attack on Congress by mob rioters. He should have immediately denounced the mob when he saw what was unfolding. These facts require immediate action by President Trump. Accept his share of responsibility. Quell the brewing unrest. And ensure President-elect Biden is able to successfully begin his term.”
Kevin McCarthy flip-flopped on January 6th a few days later when realized from internal RNC polling that the vast majority of Republican VOTERS thought that the quote-unquote “rioters” did the right thing. We were all furious that the election had been stolen. We immediately recognized that the entire January 6th brouhaha was a fed set-up, long before the public learned about Ray Epps and the fake pipe bombs.

If you want to see business-as-usual upset in Congress, this is what it looks like. The fact that we haven’t had a fight like this for Speaker of the House in 100 years just goes to show how corrupted the institution has become. The fact is that under the way the House is currently organized, Members “buy” committee chairmanships and the Speaker’s position when they’re in the majority. That’s no exaggeration.
The reason why Kevin McCarthy is even in the running for Speaker is because he lives in a wealthy California district and has access to major donors. It’s “his turn” to be Speaker because he raises more money for the failed RNC than anyone else in the GOP. The reason Nancy Pelosi was Speaker was because she lives in a wealthy San Francisco district and is a fundraising juggernaut – not because Democrat voters actually like her. The same goes for McCarthy. He’s paid for the Speaker chair, and now he’s not getting it.
The naysayers claiming “We’ll end up with a Democrat Speaker” because of the upstarts are beyond belief. The only way a Democrat ends up Speaker in this scenario is if Republicans who are currently voting FOR McCarthy cave and vote for a Democrat. The holdouts aren’t going to do that. No matter what happens, this fight is the exact sort of pain that the GOP needs to go through right now, as a new political movement is being born. Bravo, holdouts!
