Uh-Oh: Communist China Has a Serious Obesity Problem

For years now, obesity has been a stereotypical part of American life, and there’s a good reason for it. With prosperity, food becomes more abundant, and those who are prone to overeating will have more opportunity to do so.

Well, with communist China allowed to dominate global politics, Xi Jinping’s subjects are now the ones tilting the scale. According to a National Health Commission report in December, more than half of all Chinese citizens are now considered overweight. Keeping China’s insane population levels in mind — that’s more than the entire population of the United States.

The report states that 50.7% of Chinese adults are now overweight. The obesity rate in the communist country has doubled over the past two decades — from 7.1 percent in 2002 to 16.4 percent by the end of 2020.

Of course, obesity is associated with excess wealth in our culture. But — while China is rich from a macroeconomic standpoint, everyday citizens don’t exactly get much of a cut. So, how did this happen? Why are poor populations more-often hit with obesity epidemics?

It’s simple. The foods, or rather food-like-products, that are the cheapest are also those that are most heavily processed, contain the most preservatives, pesticides, and flavor enhancers. Above all, the least expensive food-like-products contain the most high fructose corn syrup. High fructose corn syrup is to sugar what crack cocaine is to powder cocaine.

All of these things are addictive, especially high fructose corn syrup. To understand the obesity phenomenon, you have to understand the body doesn’t just use fat to store nutrients for later. It also stores harmful substances to keep them from being processed through the metabolism and the filtering organs like the liver and kidneys.

When a person loses weight, the body has to process the poisons that it has sequestered. This is why losing weight too quickly is dangerous. This fact can also help us to understand that a skinny person with poor eating habits is more at risk for liver failure, kidney disease, and a number of other life threatening illnesses, including cancer.

So, think of fat as an adaptive metabolic reaction to a poor diet. It’s the body’s way of preventing a person from being poisoned by a poisonous diet.

Now, when we understand these facts of human health, which have been kept from the public both intentionally and unintentionally, we can understand how the poor can be the most obese among us. Under normal conditions where heavily processed foods don’t exist, it is difficult to become overweight. But in today’s world, it is easy.

This brings us to modern-day China, where people with a rich and ancient culture live under the boot of a brutal totalitarian regime — the Chinese Communist Party. It is a marvelous nation with a marvelous people who have been burdened with a problem to which they previously seemed to be immune – obesity.

China’s corporate culture and its government have made it easy for Western fast-food culture to make inroads into their country. Much of China’s absorption of Western culture has been done through the theft of intellectual property, bringing in information tech, the influence of Hollywood, and indolent lifestyles.

Today, Chinese citizens live under the threat of virtual banishment through social credit scores, under the yoke of a parasitic government that welds people’s doors and windows shut, and sends them to forced labor camps, and where organ harvesting is an all too real phenomenon.

This is what corporate communism does to a nation. Make no mistake, it’s been slowly happening to us for decades. Under a Biden Administration, you can expect these things to hit home harder than ever before.
