Someone on social media noted that President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Elon Musk should be nicknamed the “Refounding Fathers” of America. The slashing of corrupt programs and remaking of federal agencies does feel like a new American Revolution, doesn’t it?
By the time the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) sunsets in 2026, it’s going to feel like we’re living in a brand-new country—one that provides more liberty and freedom to the American people, and with a government that’s not dedicated to destroying our lives.
Do you want to know what’s really hilarious about all this? It was Barack Obama who accidentally created DOGE years ago.
Liberals are waking up every day thinking that they’re living through some sort of illegal power grab. It couldn’t possibly be legal, they think, for Donald Trump and Elon Musk to create DOGE and then eviscerate the federal bureaucracy like this.
But that’s the thing. Donald Trump and Elon Musk didn’t create DOGE.
This all started back in 2014. The incompetent Obama administration attempted to build a website. They failed.
Back in 2014, anyone with a modicum of computer skills, a little bit of HTML knowledge, and an extra $30 in their bank account could build a pretty spiffy website. But not the Obama administration!
They sunk $2.1 billion into their attempts to build the Obamacare website and they utterly failed.
In response to that failure, Obama created an oversight agency called the US Digital Service (USDS). This was the bureaucratic oversight solution to the hot mess of the Obamacare site.
President Trump simply renamed the USDS to the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This was already a fully funded federal agency. Trump gave the agency a new name and a new mission: Root out the fraud.
DOGE is now legally untouchable because it was already funded and operational when he took office on January 20th. Trump then invoked 5 USC 3161, which allows him to create temporary hiring authorities. With that authority, he embedded a DOGE team inside every federal agency.
Every team consists of an attorney, a Human Resources representative, a math nerd, and an investigator. Because they are an oversight agency, they report directly to their superiors at DOGE and not the agencies they’re embedded in.
President Trump then invoked 44 USC 35, which relates to IT and cybersecurity oversight. Because the USDS was originally an IT oversight agency—and it now has a team embedded in every Executive branch agency—DOGE already has full access to every federal agency’s data system. They’re in every single one.
Even if Congress wanted to defund DOGE (and fortunately, Republicans don’t want to defund it), they could not do so because this isn’t a new program. It’s a repurposed federal agency. The liberal state attorney generals who want to sue Trump for overreach will find that they’re running into a brick wall.
That’s because President Trump used already existing laws exactly as they were written back in 2014 during the Obama administration.
Any and all legal challenges against DOGE will lack standing because it is operating within already existing Executive branch frameworks. DOGE can do what it’s doing to USAID, the Education Department, and every other Executive branch agency because it was given that authority by Barack Obama back when it was the USDS.
When he created the USDS, Obama basically created an IT back door into HHS because of the Obamacare website. Because federal agencies never seem to die, the USDS was still sitting there wasting taxpayer money in 2025. But then President Trump and Elon Musk repurposed it so that the USDS (now DOGE) functions as an IT backdoor into every federal agency.
Because it already existed and had full funding, there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it. Multiple federal laws would have to be rewritten in order to stop DOGE, and there’s not enough time to do that before it expires.
DOGE will be on autopilot until the program sunsets in July of 2026. Barack Obama is a dirty communist who wrecked our country by weaponizing the federal government against his political opponents. It seems incredibly fitting that the Deep State is now being destroyed from within using a tool that he built.
