Uh oh! The story about Doug Emhoff being an alleged violent psycho with a drinking problem who likes to smack around women is starting to grow legs!
To their credit, the Daily Mail in London is doing the job that the American media refuses to do by digging deeper into the Second Gentleman’s sordid past. The American press used to vet presidential candidates and their spouses and relatives back in the olden times, but they threw that standard out the window completely when Barack Obama came along.
It’s nice to see an outlet somewhere in the world that’s still practicing good old-fashioned journalism!
If you feel like this is just a sordid affair that happened years ago, and which we shouldn’t be paying any attention to, allow us to dispel that notion. Just look at how well-adjusted, kind, and good-natured all of Donald Trump’s children are. The “black sheep” of the Trump family was the president’s uncle, Fred, who struggled with alcoholism his whole life. President Trump has spoken candidly about the profound influence Fred’s problems had on his life. He credit’s Fred with being the reason he doesn’t drink alcohol.
Donald Trump’s family is incredibly wholesome overall. They’re a great bunch of people but just look at the despicable treatment they all receive from the media. Meanwhile, the relatives of a lot of other politicians turn out to be pigs and crooks (or whatever Hunter Biden is).
The press had dutifully covered up the fact that Billy Carter was a raging drunk, for example. That ended on the day Billy whipped out his penis and urinated on an airport runway in full view of a group of reporters and foreign dignitaries. His brother Jimmy was the President of the United States at the time!
Tony Rodham, a shady former private investigator, got in trouble while working for the White House in the 1990s. He was caught “allegedly” soliciting bribes to set up meetings between President Bill Clinton and foreign jerks like Cambodian Prime Minister Han Sun and Moscow Mayor Yuri Lukhzov. Tony was Hillary Clinton’s younger brother.
Joe Biden’s drunk brother was once arrested for stuffing DVDs down his pants and trying to steal them from a Blockbuster video rental place.
We could go on and on.
So, stories about the bad behavior of the relatives of presidential candidates should matter. They tend to cause problems down the road when their relatives are in charge and it’s too late for the voters to do anything about it. It’s usually not as funny as the Billy Carter incident, though.
The Doug Emhoff story matters, therefore, since the media in America is doing its level best to hide anything remotely negative concerning Kamala Harris. And because Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff’s character and background tell us a few things about Kamala that we otherwise might not know.
To review the Emhoff timeline, as reported by the Daily Mail and ignored by the American media:
Emhoff’s first marriage lasted from 1992 through 2008. It ended when Emhoff sneakily implanted a baby in the womb of his children’s nanny. The whereabouts of that baby and its fate have been previously unknown (until now, allegedly). After paying the nanny $80,000 in hush money and forcing her to sign an NDA, Emhoff started dating a high-powered New York attorney.
Emhoff took the attorney as his date to the Cinema Against AIDS film festival in the South of France in 2012. After the event, the attorney lady went up to one of the valets and offered him a $100 bribe to quickly fetch a car for her and Doug. She put her hand on the valet’s shoulder, according to witnesses who spoke with the Daily Mail.
Emhoff became enraged because he thought she was flirting with the valet. He grabbed her by the shoulder, spun her around, and punched her in the face as hard as he could. The American media has tried to downplay this by describing it as a “forceful open-handed slap,” but witnesses say he made a fist and decked the poor lady.
The event was attended by celebrities like Antonio Banderas, Kim Kardashian, Kirsten Dunst, Heidi Klum, Paris Hilton, gunslinger Alec Baldwin, and Clinton donor pal Harvey Weinstein. Lots of people allegedly saw this happen, although a spokesperson for Emhoff is denying it.
The latest detail about the nanny is that she has told witnesses that she tragically lost the baby due to some sort of abusive behavior that Emhoff engaged in.
We don’t know if this is true or not, but the Daily Mail is giving Emhoff’s team every opportunity to deny it. If the story is false, why hasn’t Emhoff sued the Daily Mail?
Emhoff runs around giving interviews where he calls himself a “male feminist” and an “ally of women.” We’re not suggesting that Doug Emhoff has ever been violent against Kamala Harris. She clearly wears the pants in that relationship. But it says something about her character that she would marry a man accused of such violent behavior and that the media would go to such lengths to cover it up.
