By now, most Americans understand that the Russia collusion narrative was a lie cooked up by Democrats and anti-Trump members of the intelligence community to derail Donald Trump’s presidency. But what if it goes deeper than that? What if the FBI itself was infiltrated—used as a pawn by a foreign spy to launch that bogus investigation?
Meet Charles McGonigal: once the FBI’s Special Agent in Charge of Counterintelligence in New York, now under a cloud of suspicion that could blow the lid off the entire Russia hoax.
McGonigal was a central player in the FBI’s infamous Crossfire Hurricane operation, the so-called “counterintelligence” probe into Trump’s 2016 campaign. He reported directly to none other than Peter Strzok—the same Strzok who called Trump an “idiot” and plotted an “insurance policy” to stop him.
McGonigal was appointed by then-FBI Director James Comey, who recently made headlines for posting a veiled threat against Trump on social media.
But here’s where it gets truly alarming: McGonigal may not have just been biased—he may have been compromised.
In 2017, while still at the FBI, McGonigal allegedly received a payment worth up to $250,000 from Albanian intelligence. Then, after leaving the bureau in 2018 to work for Brookfield Asset Management, he resurfaced in 2021 working for none other than Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska—a Putin ally who was under U.S. sanctions thanks to Crossfire Hurricane.
That’s right: the same man who helped launch the investigation into Donald Trump for “Russia ties” ended up on the payroll of a Putin-connected Russian. You can’t make this up.
Rather than face espionage charges, McGonigal quietly pled guilty to corruption-related crimes—falsifying records, making false statements, violating sanctions, and money laundering. But some suspect this was just the tip of the iceberg.
On April 30, Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney Ed Martin sent a letter to McGonigal’s attorney, citing “new information” and requesting an interview with the disgraced agent. Days later, McGonigal filed for a gag order against his ex-girlfriend Allison Guerreiro, who claims she has evidence that he was acting as a foreign agent all along.
Was McGonigal secretly working for a hostile power while feeding the FBI lies to take down Donald Trump after he won the presidency?
It sure looks that way—and if true, it would mean Democrats fell for a foreign disinformation campaign that undermined faith in American elections for years.
There’s more to this story, and the Trump DOJ may finally be ready to uncover the full truth. Stay tuned.
