Eric Cubin is a radiologist who was serving on the Wyoming Board of Medicine, the group that oversees licensing and regulations of the medical profession in that state. The Governor of Wyoming reappointed him to a second four-year term on the board in March. But just a few weeks later, Gov. Mark Gordon fired him.
The reason why the quote-unquote “Republican” governor removed Cubin from the board was because of his vocal opposition to medically transitioning children.
At the time when Gov. Gordon fired Cubin, the state House was debating a bill called Chloe’s Law, SF0099. It’s named after Chloe Cole, a young woman who was medically transitioned by her doctors when she was a teenager. They started giving her hormone blockers and testosterone when she was 13 while telling her that she was really a boy. They chopped her breasts off when she was 15. When she became an adult, Chloe came to realize that it was all a lie and that she should never have been medically mutilated in that way when she was a vulnerable teenager.
The bill prohibited doctors in Wyoming from chemically castrating children or performing sexual mutilation surgeries on them. Chloe’s Law has been adopted by other red states because the public overwhelmingly supports it. Even a lot of Democrat parents realize that it is insane to chemically castrate a child who isn’t even old enough to get a driver’s license.
As the legislature was debating the bill back in March, the Wyoming Medical Society (WMS) was vehemently opposed to it. There’s big money in it for the medical community to chop the genitals and breasts off of children in ghoulish surgeries that can only be described as butchery. The medical community was spending a ton of money lobbying House Republicans in Wyoming to try to get them to vote against Chloe’s Law.
Eric Cubin, in his capacity as a medical professional, offered an alternate opinion. He wrote to every member of the Wyoming House and urged them to vote “Yes” on Chloe’s Law. He stood up for the protection of children when it mattered most.
And that’s exactly why Gov. Mark Gordon fired Cubin just a few weeks after he had been reappointed to the Board of Medicine. In an email he sent to Cubin, the “Republican governor wrote:
“I have been made aware of your email to the members of the House of Representatives during this last legislative session regarding SF0099 in which you strongly encouraged the members to pass this legislation and criticized the Wyoming Medical Society’s opposition to this bill.”
Gordon fired Cubin for opposing the chemical castration and sexual mutilation of children. Just a few months later, Gordon signed Chloe’s Law into law—again, because of overwhelming public support for it.
Cubin has filed a petition with the federal court in Cheyenne to reinstate him on the Board of Medicine. He argues that the “Republican” governor violated his free speech rights and removed him from the board for retaliatory reasons, which is true.
An obvious question that always comes to mind when we see stories like this is, how do we keep ending up with “Republican” politicians who are so utterly worthless? They see a few dollars flashed in front of them and then stab their own voters in the back on issues that should be a slam dunk.
The sad answer is… it’s our fault.
Conservative voters are lazy when it comes to primary elections. It’s how the worst people in our country—people like Lindsey Graham, Dan Crenshaw, James Lankford, John Cornyn, and Mitch McConnell—keep getting reelected year after year. If we start punishing some of these people, the rest of them will quickly fall in line.
It’s not impossible. We just need to have the will to do it. Wyoming booted Liz Cheney, and they could have booted Mark Gordon from the governor’s office if they had primaried him.
It’s not as if there were no warning signs. Gordon turned into a global warming zealot during his first term in office. Wyoming has no personal income tax or corporate income tax. The state government is mainly financed by taxes on the extraction of natural resources. During Gordon’s first term in office, they had to cut $500 million in state services from the budget because he started shutting down coal mining and natural gas extraction.
Gordon wants to replace Wyoming’s plentiful and cheap natural resources with stupid solar panels and windmills. Any “Republican” who is dumb enough to believe that global warming is actually real should be automatically disqualified from representing us. They’re too stupid to effectively govern.
Yet the voters reelected Mark Gordon after that! We’re never going to start fixing the problems in this country until conservative voters start punishing these fake “Republicans” who believe in global warming and sexually butchering children.
