Vice President JD Vance delivered an amazing speech on Wednesday night at a Turning Point USA event in Mississippi. We realize that it’s early to be talking about who will carry the MAGA torch into the future after President Donald Trump leaves office. Many have a healthy amount of skepticism over whether that person will betray the movement. We get it. MAGA has been betrayed by a lot of RINOs over the past decade. This speech by Vance on Wednesday night should lay a lot of fears and reservations to rest.
The event followed the traditional Turning Point structure that we’ve all seen Charlie Kirk carry out. Vance gave a short speech that lasted just a few minutes and then took hostile questions from the crowd for about an hour. He stood up and fearlessly articulated Christianity and its vital role in the American nation and the America First movement begun by President Trump.
While debating hostile communist students, Vance never once cowered or backed down, as we have seen so many squishy “Republican” leaders do in the past. Why has it taken so long for the Republican Party to come up with leaders who are good at debating our beliefs?
Do you remember the way that Mitt Romney writhed and squirmed on-stage in that CNN debate with Barack Obama and Candy Crowley? So weak and pathetic! The same could be said for every Republican nominee for president dating back to George HW Bush.
“Sorry for my beliefs! Do you want to go on a date with my wife as reparations?”
If you’ve had any doubts about JD Vance’s sincerity, you should know that he championed the 1924 Immigration Act during his debate with these students. That law reduced legal immigration levels to near zero, and it was in effect for 40 years. We had large amounts of immigration in the early 1920s, but then it came to an end.
The result was that the immigrant population assimilated and became Americans. Assimilation was expected of them, and they didn’t have a constant flood of reinforcements coming in from their home countries. Americans became much more prosperous because they weren’t competing for jobs and housing with a constant influx of foreigners.
We were also a much more cohesive nation because of the Immigration Act of 1924. Vance points out that it’s not a sin for people to want to live around others who speak the same language. That’s how you have a functional and high-trust society!
Vice President Vance also called for visa work programs like H-1B to be gutted. We shouldn’t be allowing any foreign workers into our country unless they are absolute geniuses with proven skills. We don’t need foreign nannies and gardeners, let alone truck drivers and 7-11 clerks.
Vance came across as even more of an immigration restrictionist than President Trump, and that is exactly what we need to carry the MAGA movement forward and restore America to greatness.
Even more importantly, Vance defended Christianity in the public square and as the bedrock of our constitutional form of government. He called out the false notion of “neutrality” in the public square and public schools. There is no such thing as neutrality. He called out abortion as a form of human sacrifice, which is true.
As much as we would all love to see President Trump serve a third term in office starting in 2028, we should be realistic that it’s not going to happen. Even President Trump has admitted that he’s not going to do it. (Note that we are still going to keep saying that Trump is running in 2028, because it triggers leftists and fills their hearts with despair!)
We all need to get ready for what happens after President Trump leaves the political scene. It will be a sad day, but he will have done his duty as a good and faithful servant to the American people. Will JD Vance be the nominee in 2028, and will he faithfully continue the mission? Time will tell. But his speech at the Turning Point event on Wednesday night gives us hope.
You should watch the whole thing. Here it is:
