President Donald Trump issued a slate of over 70 pardons recently. Many of the names of those 70+ individuals are familiar. He pardoned Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Mark Meadows, Jenna Ellis, and others who fought against the 2020 election being stolen. Dozens of alternate electors who committed no crimes and did nothing wrong were also pardoned. One name that most Americans won’t recognize is Troy Lake. Who is that?
Troy Lake is a 65-year-old diesel mechanic from Cheyenne, Wyoming. Joe Biden threw Lake in prison for helping his neighbors. This story is just one more example of how the unelected Biden regime weaponized the federal government against everyday Americans who live far from Washington, DC.
Back in 2006, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under globalist “President” George W. Bush tightened emissions standards on diesel pickup trucks. Remember back when we all thought we were rejecting the global warming nutbaggery of Al Gore and John Kerry when we voted for Bush? George W. Bush implemented the exact same policies that Gore and Kerry would have forced on us.
Starting immediately in 2007, diesel pickup owners started coming to Troy Lake because their trucks were having problems, even when they were brand-new. The new emission control systems in the trucks were causing breakdowns. The only solution that engineers could come up with to comply with Bush’s new global warming rules was to recirculate a diesel pickup’s exhaust right back into the engine’s air intake system.
This destroys an engine’s lifespan. The systems would also trigger a “fault” anytime they detect too many particles in the exhaust. People would be towing a camper to the lake for a weekend getaway, when the truck would lose power and leave them stranded. Repairing a truck after the global warming controls trashed the engine was (and is) insanely expensive.
Some of Troy Lake’s friends came to him in 2007 and asked whether there was any way to fix this problem. He figured out a way to disable the global warming emissions systems in these trucks. Word quickly spread, and deleting the emissions controls on diesel pickups soon became the bulk of Troy Lake’s business. He became what’s known as a “diesel delete mechanic.”
Barack Obama’s EPA then tightened emissions controls on auto manufacturers even more. He made these trucks even worse by imposing impossible emissions standards on the industry. This was all done to address the fake, non-existent, gay, and retarded “problem” of global warming.
Troy Lake became a regional leader among diesel delete mechanics. He was so popular that everyone was bringing their new diesel trucks to him for this service. Wouldn’t you? A new Heavy Duty diesel pickup truck costs around six figures, and the stupid emissions control systems in them start burning the engines up the moment you drive one off the lot.
Troy’s deletions became so popular that other diesel mechanics from across Wyoming were reaching out to him for pointers on who to perform the service that the public clearly wanted. Diesel deletions are technically “illegal,” but it was never treated as a criminal matter.
In 2019, former EPA administrator Andrew Wheeler raided Troy’s business, Elite Diesel. (Trump just could not get good help during his first term.) Troy Lake never should have gone to prison over this. In a worst-case scenario, his business should have received a small fine and a stern warning to stop providing a popular service to his customers.
But that all changed when the Communist Autopen regime took over the government. The Biden regime decided that Troy Lake needed to be punished as a Global Warming Felon. They arrested him and put him on trial for providing a non-criminal service that customers wanted.
At his sentencing hearing, Biden’s federal prosecutors even recommended that the judge “make an example” of Troy Lake. He was a dastardly global warming criminal and deserved to be punished. The judge sentenced him to one year and one day in prison.
Troy’s sentence started in February of this year. After seven months, he was released and allowed to serve out the rest of his sentence under home confinement and wearing an ankle monitor. A few days ago, he received a full and unconditional pardon from President Donald J. Trump.
As for the EPA under President Trump, the agency is now rolling back the regulations that forced these emission control systems into diesel pickups. They might be entirely phased out by 2027, which is what the public wants.
Congratulations to Troy Lake and his family! Once again, President Trump is standing up for everyday Americans who were punished by the out-of-control and weaponized federal government.
