Trump is Driving the News Cycle While Kamala Falters at Every Step

Tampa, Florida – July 31, 2018: President Donald Trump addresses his supporters at a rally in Tampa, Florida, on July 31, 2018.

“I’m not supposed to say it, but we are leading by so much,” said President Donald Trump at a campaign rally this week.

Have you noticed as we head into the final stretch before this election that this year has some serious “2016 energy” vibes? Trump is doing everything right as Kamala Harris doesn’t even have a message.

Quick: What’s Kamala’s slogan?

She doesn’t even have one! JD Vance suggested she should adopt “Nothing Comes to Mind.”

Meanwhile, President Trump is once again doing what he does best—making the media dance around like kitty cats chasing a laser pointer.

If you take a bird’s-eye view of what’s happening with the two campaigns right now, it’s incredible. Trump is driving the news cycle and always keeping himself and his positive message in front of the voters.

What was the big, viral news moment of the past week? That’s easy. It was Donald Trump’s McDonald’s “stunt.” The image of Donald Trump leaning out the window of a McDonald’s, wearing an apron and his signature red tie and white shirt, is now an iconic piece of presidential election history. He looked reminiscent of a nostalgic throwback to a time when America was a much better place.

To those of us who are old enough to remember when America still had private grocery stores, he looked like your friendly neighborhood grocer.

That sent a subliminal message to everyone who ever worked a restaurant job that there is dignity and worth to every job—even if you just work the fry station. The real magic of the “stunt” happened when he was handing out fries to people.

One vehicle pulled up to the drive-through and thanked him for saving America and noted that they were just an ordinary family. In a totally unscripted moment, Trump leaned toward them and told them, “You’re not ordinary. There’s nothing ordinary about you!”

That’s why other politicians hate Donald Trump so much. He has an uncanny ability to make every person he meets feel special and appreciated. Even if you’re the type of person who likes to get fries at McDonald’s. Most politicians loathe all of us unwashed hicks out in flyover country and would never speak to us at all unless they didn’t need our votes. Trump loves the American people.

What did Kamala do around the same time? She had to take two days off from campaigning to prepare for a sit-down interview, which ended up being another dumpster fire. She gave a “press conference” in which she took no questions and called Trump Hitler for the umpteenth time. It didn’t move the needle at all.

On Thursday, her campaign managed to pack an arena in Georgia by having Bruce Springsteen give a free concert. It was just Bruce with his guitar. His band wouldn’t even show up for Kamala. As a headline on the Gateway Pundit noted:

“YIKES! Bruce Springsteen Sounds Absolutely AWFUL at Kamala Harris Rally in Georgia.”

Uh… yeah. When has Bruce Springsteen’s voice ever not sounded like the rusty hinges on the gates of hell?

As soon as the free “concert” was over, thousands streamed for the exits rather than sit through a 20-minute Kamala speech. Can you blame them? Even if you can tolerate Bruce Springsteen’s voice…

Trump announced on Monday—in another brilliant move—that he was doing the Joe Rogan podcast on Friday. You don’t have to be a political expert to predict what’s going to happen there. It will be the most-watched podcast in American history. And he’s doing it on a Friday so that it will be the only thing the news stations talk about all weekend, heading into the final week of the 2024 campaign.

Kamala then belatedly announced that Bouncy or Beyonce or whatever she’s called would be giving a free concert at a rally in Texas on Friday. Just you wait. The crowd will stream for the exits as soon as Bouncy is done singing.

Trump is close to overtaking Harris in New Hampshire in early voting. Democrats in Colorado are worried because Republicans are only trailing them by about 22,000 in early voting. Nate Silver is predicting that Trump could win every swing state.

“I’m not supposed to say it, but we are leading by so much.”
