Trump Says Schiff Is a Crook—And This Time, There’s Paperwork

Long Beach, CA - Nov 16, 2019: Senator Adam Schiff speaking at the Democratic Party Endorsing Convention in Long Beach, CA.

President Donald Trump dropped a bombshell on Tuesday by announcing that impeachment hoax manager Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has been committing mortgage fraud for years. The president accused his Russia hoaxer archnemesis of residing in a Maryland home since 2003 and claiming it as his primary residence for favorable loan terms. In the years since then, Schiff has claimed that his Burbank condo is also his primary residence so he could keep his congressional seat (and now US Senate seat) in California. And there’s a criminal referral.

It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy! Hey Adam, now would be a great time to finally release that Russia collusion evidence you have that’s supposedly been hiding in plain sight for all these years. Give yourself a bit of leverage against Trump, buddy!

The president announced on Truth Social:

“Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA. I always knew Adam Schiff was a Crook.”

Schiff was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2000, representing California’s District 30 (Burbank). As you may remember, Schiff is besties for life with a gay serial killer named Ed Buck, until Buck went to prison. Many members of Congress end up purchasing a second home in the DC area, so their families can live closer and they don’t have to travel back to their home districts as often. Shifty Schiff bought a 3,420-square-foot home in Montgomery County, MD, in 2003.

Schiff and his wife claimed in writing that they would occupy the home for 12 consecutive months as their “primary residence.” He has claimed the Maryland residence as his “primary residence” ever since. He refinanced the home in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. Each time, he listed the home as his “primary residence.”

None of that by itself is illegal. In a crazy loophole that the Founding Fathers never dreamed of, so long as a person lives in a state at the time of their election, they can technically move to another state and keep getting reelected to represent a state they no longer live in. (The Founders were in the horse-and-buggy era for travel, so they never envisioned rapid air travel.)

During all these years that Schiff was claiming the Maryland home as his “primary residence,” he was also claiming his condo in Burbank as his “primary residence.” You can’t have two of those. He’s been taking a homeowner’s tax exemption on the condo and voting in California’s elections all these years.

If Maryland is his primary residence, he’s supposed to be voting there. The real crime, though, is all the tax deductions Schiff has “allegedly” been taking on both homes by claiming each one is his primary residence. We know that’s a $7,000 per year deduction he’s been saving on the California condo. We don’t know the amount of financial benefit Schiff has been receiving on the Maryland home. Plus, it’s fraud to sign mortgage papers and refinancing deals and claim a home as your primary residence if it’s not your primary residence.

If this all sounds awfully familiar, it’s because this is the exact same thing that New York Attorney General Letitia James is being criminally investigated for committing. She purchased multiple rental properties in Virginia and New York and listed each of them as her “primary residence.” She also bought her first home by claiming that her dad was her husband.

The problem for Letitia James is that if the homes she purchased in Virginia were her “primary residence,” she voided her term as New York Attorney General. State law requires her to live in the state to be the AG. This would mean she was never the Attorney General when she prosecuted President Trump for paying back real estate loans in full and with interest.

The problem for Adam Schiff is that he was just elected to the US Senate in 2024. He’s also in trouble for the alleged fraud, obviously. But the real problem for Schiff is that he shifted from the House to the Senate last year. To qualify as a US Senator, he would have to move back to California for 12 consecutive months.

If there’s a piece of paper that says the Maryland home is currently Schiff’s “primary residence,” then he’s no longer a US Senator. Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom are going to be watching this case very closely.

Fannie Mae chairman Bill Pulte confirmed this week that Schiff has been criminally referred for mortgage fraud.
