Arizona Lawmakers Sound the Alarm on Uncertified Maricopa County Vote Tabulators

New evidence has emerged that the 2020 and 2022 elections in Arizona were completely compromised and should never have been certified. Arizona State Senate Majority Leader Sonny Borrelli (R-Lake Havasu) and State Senator Wendy Rogers (R-Flagstaff) announced these new findings last week, which have gone entirely unreported by the fake news media.

The software updates on the vote tabulators used in Maricopa County were never approved by the state’s Election Assistance Commission, which should nullify both of those elections under Arizona law.

Sen. Borelli says “there is probable cause” of a crime and Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell has been notified of these new findings, which were compiled by retired National Security Agency cybersecurity experts.

Borelli stated during the press conference, “A few days ago I received documentation and a sworn declaration by a cybersecurity expert that examined the data from the 2020 and 2022 elections, where it has been determined that the data and the equipment had been altered. The Election Assistance Commission never approved this altered software. In Maricopa County’s previous representation that the election software is EAC certified, including to the Arizona Senate, [that was] false [testimony].”

The experts determined that the vote tabulating software had been breached in both 2020 and 2022. This happened in Maricopa County, which is the most populous Arizona County, as well as Pima and Coconino counties. All three counties use the same system.

The report continues:

“Since at least 2020, the configuration of the machines with a master decryption key in an election database have been in a table in plain text protected by nothing other than a Windows login, where our credentials are easily bypassed. With these keys, a malicious actor can have total control over its electronic voting system.”

Borelli made clear that he is not accusing Maricopa County officials of being complicit in the breach. However, he notes that it did happen on their watch. Borelli and Rogers have turned all the information over to Maricopa County law enforcement as a felony violation of A.R.S. 16-442.

Under state law, vote tabulating machines—the ones that count the votes—have to be certified by the state’s EAC before they can be used in an election. The report indicates that while the EAC did certify some vote tabulating machines in 2020 and 2022, Maricopa County used different machines that were not certified to count the votes. Even if no cheating had taken place, it’s still illegal. They’re required to use the certified machines that they had a contract to use to count the votes.

After the 2022 election was stolen by Maricopa County, Kari Lake and Mark Finchem filed a lawsuit to have electronic voting machine tabulators banned in Arizona. A lower court dismissed their case. They’ve now filed a Petition for Certiorari with the U.S. Supreme Court to appeal that decision.

This all started when Arizona Corporation Commissioner (ACC) Jim O’Connor and a team of election security experts started sounding the alarm in 2022 that Maricopa County was using uncertified machines to count the votes. O’Connor sent a letter to Maricopa County officials in August of that year, before the election, warning them that then-Secretary of State Katie Hobbs was going to use uncertified tabulators to count the votes.

Katie Hobbs filed an ethics complaint against O’Connor the day after he sent that letter. Her complaint stated that O’Connor had “repeated erroneous and debunked conspiracies about voting machines and election security.”

Sen. Borelli stated last week, “What we do know is that over the last three and a half years that the third-party vendor had full access to workspaces, and they even got badged in by a county employee into the server room unsupervised. that’s all been exposed. We just know the data was altered. Data was altered and they used uncertified configurations.”

Maricopa County is scheduled to re-sign the contract on the vote tabulator machines in April. Senators Rogers and Borelli hope that this new information will finally get through to Maricopa County officials and that public pressure will help to ensure that the contract does not get re-signed. They’re also hoping that local law enforcement will act on the violations of A.R.S. 16-442. It’s unclear whether this new information will help with Kari Lake and Mark Finchem’s appeal to the US Supreme Court.

What we do know is that the public now has a chance to speak out and put pressure on Maricopa County officials and hopefully stop another election from being stolen from President Trump in 2024.

  2. This needs to be checked out by an honest third party and then it needs to be corrected or absolutely no one will believe in fair elections anymore

  3. There is so much evidence that the election was rigged. But it’s the justice system that won’t let it be heard. They are so corrupt all over. I hope President Trump wi1ll be able to take care of all this. Everyone who has evidence needs to come forward and not be scared of the retaliation against them,
