A disturbing new report has revealed that the Chinese Communist government is in the process of building a military base in northern Cuba – just 100 miles away from U.S. soil.
This base, which could house thousands of Chinese troops along with other weaponry and intelligence operations would pose a major threat to the U.S. homeland.
According to the Wall Street Journal, China and Cuba are at an “advanced stage” in negotiating the joint military facility.
U.S. officials told the Journal that the information they have about the proposed military facility is contained in “highly classified new U.S. intelligence.”
The report further stated that the effort is part of a Chinese military plan known as “Project 141,” which aims to expand China’s military presence around the globe. The decision to build this base however is particularly concerning because it’s the first of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, its easily the closest to the U.S. mainland.
Just last week, however, the White House confirmed that a Chinese spy base has already existed on the island for some time and the base was recently “upgraded” after the two communist nations reached a deal to build an electronic eavesdropping base in the country, which is reportedly worth billions, and would allow China to construct a facility that can intercept communications in the southeastern U.S., home to dozens of military bases.
China has been cozying up to Cuba for years.
Cuba agreed to join China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in 2018 during an official visit by the Castro regime’s figurehead President Miguel Díaz-Canel to Beijing.
BRI is a program used by the Chinese Communist Party to trap countries through the use of predatory, often unfavorable and unpayable, “debt trap” loans for the construction of infrastructure projects that allow China to eventually seize the constructed infrastructure or exert pressure on nations that find themselves unable to repay.
In late November, during Díaz-Canel’s latest visit to Beijing, China handed over a $100 million “gift” to Cuba as the island nation found itself a dire economic condition thanks to its decades of continuous communist rule. Neither regime issued a public explanation of what exactly the donation was for.
Fast forward to today where America is looking weaker than ever thanks to the absolute bafoon we have in the White House and China has smelled blood – deciding to go all in on their efforts to partner with the island nation.
And what’s even more concerning for the U.S. is it’s not just Cuba that the CCP are going after. In 2017 China built a space station base located in Argentina which they claim is for “peaceful space observation and exploration,” but we all know that’s a lie.
The Chinese are slowly but surely positioning bases and gaining influence all around the Western hemisphere in countries that surround the U.S. And don’t think for a second that the Biden White House is interested in stopping them, we’ve told you numerous times that the CCP has been lining Joe’s pockets for years.
