President Biden made clear that he has no intention of giving up on his push to eradicate American’s second amendment rights – telling “brave right wing Americans” they don’t stand a chance of fighting back against the government when he unleashes it on them.
During a campaign speech in Pennsylvania the president said it’s going to take a whole lot more than just guns to fight back against a tyrannical government, but he intends on banning them anyways.
“For those brave right-wing Americans that say it’s all about keeping America, keeping America independent and safe, if you want to fight against the country, you need an AR-15. You need something a little more than a gun,” said Biden.
“No I’m not joking, think about this, think about the rationale we used, that’s used,” he added.
“Who are they shooting at? They’re shooting at these guys behind me,” he continued, suggesting pro-2A Americans are shooting at law enforcement.
Biden went on to argue that he is not explicitly against the Second Amendment, pointing to the fact that he has two shotguns at home as proof – never mind the fact that he is now and will, for the rest of his life, be protected by armed secret service agents.
“You know we live in a country awash in weapons of war,” he complained, promising to ban so-called “assault weapons” in the United States.
The president began shouting about the dangers of semi-automatic weapons such as AR-15s.
“What the hell’s the matter with us?” he shouted. “No, I’m not jokin’. Think about it. What are we doin’?”
He then repeated the often recited moronic lines that Americans cant just go out and purchase a cannon and that AR-15s are not needed for hunting – despite knowing full-well the Second Amendment is not about American’s right to hunt.
“How many deer or bears are wearing Kevlar vests huh?” he asked. “Not a joke.”
“It’s time to hold every elected official’s feet to the fire and ask them: ‘Are you for banning assault weapons or not?’” he said. “Ask them. If the answer is no, vote against them.”
Critics hammered Biden over the anti-gun tirade, especially the bit where he laughed at the thought of Americans fending off a tyrannical government with just guns.
“The president has been saying this for years but it’s less and less congruent with how even his own administration has played out. How many F-15s did the Taliban have when Biden decided to surrender Afghanistan to them?” Stephen Gutowski noted on Twitter.
“This is the logic of an authoritarian. ‘We have bombs and missiles, you wouldn’t stand a chance. Therefore surrender your puny guns.’ No,” responded congressional candidate Blake Masters.
“Pure provocation. We don’t need or want violence, we are going to defeat this regime at the ballot box, this is what they fear the most, that’s why are they are trying to provoke us. Don’t take the bait, engage at every level of the political process !” tweeted congressional candidate Joe Kent.
“Did the sitting President of the United States just say that he’s willing to turn the military on citizens?” read another response.
Biden has a bit of a history of making these types of threats against the citizens he’s supposed to be fighting to protect, saying back in June of 2021 that Americans would need “nuclear weapons” if they hoped to stand a fighting chance against their own government.
November can’t come soon enough.
