Bridgeport, CT Do-Over Election Results in Even More Accusations of Fraud

One of the biggest stories we covered in 2023 was the stolen Democrat primary election in Bridgeport, CT. When it was proven in court that city workers had stuffed the ballot boxes in favor of incumbent mayor Joe Ganim, the primary results were thrown out and the judge ordered a do-over election. It’s exactly what should have happened in 2020, when the presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump.

Bridgeport still held its general election in November, which Ganim won, and they held the primary do-over last week. Amazingly, after three tries, the voters in Bridgeport still don’t know who their mayor is because of more absentee ballot fraud!

The incumbent mayor Joe Ganim won the Democrat primary last September, but challenger John Gomes immediately alleged fraud. He publicly released surveillance footage that showed a city employee and vocal Ganim supporter named Wanda Geter-Pataky stuffing a drop box, which is hugely illegal in Connecticut. Gomes sued and, in the trial, produced evidence of a second city worker who had also engaged in ballot harvesting and drop box stuffing.

It was all too much for the judge, who called the evidence “shocking.” The primary election results were voided just one week before the general election in November. Because it was too close to the general election, they went ahead with both candidates still on the ballot, but a do-over of the primary was ordered for January. Ganim won that general election vote in November—but he still wasn’t officially reelected as mayor.

The do-over election was held last week, and new allegations of voter fraud immediately surfaced. There were all sorts of problems once again. Ganim won the official count with 56% of the vote, and Gomes garnered 43%. Another Democrat, Lamond Daniels, stayed on the ballot as well and drew 13% of the vote—the exact difference between Ganim and Gomes’ totals.

After last week’s election, Ganim’s campaign is now accusing the Gomes campaign of cheating (even though Ganim won). Ganim says Gomes campaign staffer Denise Solano pulled hundreds of absentee ballot applications and distributed them to campaign workers who weren’t authorized to see them.

While this is not definitive proof, it suggests that the Gomes campaign may have been snatching absentee ballots from the mailboxes of voters—which is what the Ganim campaign did back in the September primary.

Gomes, the challenger, had new accusations of fraud as well. He proved that a voter was issued an absentee ballot on the same day that she died. Her ballot was returned, completed, eight days after she passed away.

At any rate, the city of Bridgeport’s absentee voting process is so crooked and broken that even the New York Times has finally been forced to admit that voter fraud is real. Here is the headline that the Times ran on Sunday:

“Voter Fraud is Rare. Except, Maybe, in Bridgeport, CT.”

There is also a controversy because City of Bridgeport election workers did not let any observers into the counting room on election night last week, when the absentee ballots were counted! You just can’t make this stuff up!

What happens next hinges on challenger John Gomes’ decision. Since last week’s election was a do-over of the Democrat primary, Gomes has the option to stay in the race and force a do-over of the general election again in February. That would be the fourth election for mayor that Bridgeport voters have had to hold in the last five months because of fraud.

Lamond Daniels has announced that he’s dropping out. His campaign is done. So, the 13% of voters who cast their ballots for Daniels last week are now up for grabs if they re-do the general election. Gomes is expected to announce sometime this week whether he will continue his campaign, which would necessitate the fourth election in February.

This story is amazing because it highlights many of the exact same issues that were in play in 2020. The video that led to the overturning of Bridgeport’s Democrat primary was no different than the thousands of videos that True the Vote uncovered for the film “2,000 Mules.” Unsecured mail-in drop boxes encourage Democrats to cheat. That’s the simple, plain, fact of the matter. If we want to have secure elections that the voters can have faith in, Bridgeport’s corruption proves that drop boxes must be banned everywhere.
