CNN host Brian Stelter has again argued for Fox News and other conservative networks to be removed from television. Why? He claims, “Reducing a liar’s reach is not the same as censorship.” Wonder if Stelter has looked in the mirror lately?
Referring to what he labels “information pollution,” the CNN pundit accuses Fox News and others conservative networks as right wing outlets filling the public with misinformation. He added, “Freedom of speech is different from freedom of reach.”
These quotable soundbytes sound great, don’t they? There’s only one problem. They’re false. There’s this little thing in America called freedom of speech. This freedom allows conservative networks to speak out against mainstream lies, and allows mainstream channels like CNN to, well, keep lying.
Isn’t it enough “The most trusted name in news” calls states on election night for their favorites long before the election is concluded? Isn’t four-plus years of Trump-bashing enough? Why the need to seek removal of the very news networks CNN chooses to attack on a daily basis?
Brian Stelter is supposed to be a journalist, isn’t he? Doesn’t he desire freedom of press and protection for those who report the news? Apparently, only when it’s leftist news. His journalism bias is in full effect when he spouts his pro-Democrat views while calling to shut off the water hose for differing perspectives.
Comically, Stelter directly attack’s Fox News host Tucker Carlson for reporting CNN is trying to force their network off the air. Stelter states, “It’s patently false,” then claims exactly what he attacks, calling for the network to be removed.
In addition, he calls for a model similar to that used by social media for “reducing a liar’s reach.” Yet in the attempt to de-politicize social media, networks have removed Trump, shut down tens of thousands of accounts, fact-checked countless conservative posts, and completely deleted conservative social network Parler.
If this is the model, no thanks. Conservatives are already being silenced enough online and by the mainstream mafia. Fox News is not a radicalization pipeline; it’s one attempt to respond to the toxic leftist propaganda pumped out on CNN and the rest of the left-wing media.
And what is CNN worried about, anyway? The network’s ratings recently topped all cable news, including Fox News, to start 2021. While the rankings have largely changed due to conservatives switching away from the sliding conservative reporting of Fox News to newer outlets like Newsmax and One America News, CNN is already ranking number one. So why the attacks?
It seems winning isn’t good enough; the next step is to remove competition. Where have we seen this before? Maybe with Facebook, as it has bought up competitors such as Instagram and WhatsApp? Maybe with Google, buying up the little guys to eat up growing tech companies? Or maybe it is from Amazon, as it buys out one online competitor after another in its online monopoly?
If it works for Big Tech, maybe it will work for CNN? If that’s the plan, watch out. The threats to shut down conservative television are not a joke, but a very real part of dominating American eyeballs with views that report only the propaganda of the left.
