Deadbeat AOC: Congresswoman REFUSES to Pay Her Democrat Party Dues

It seems like you’ve heard a little less from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez lately. She still runs her mouth and her Twitter with complete stupidity, but smarter members of the Democratic Party are trying to pretend like she doesn’t exist. They have real problems on their hands, and so Ocasio-Cortez has appeared to be slightly diminished.

In that newfound shadow, she is trying to get away with some dirty politics. Refusing to pay dues to the DNC isn’t exactly corrupt, but it’s awfully hypocritical of her since she has made a name for herself accusing corporations like Amazon, and the rich of not paying their fair share.

The dues a Representative is supposed to pay to the party are not entirely set in stone. In general, every incumbent is expected to pay around $250,000 every two years. This ensures that they replace any funding they took from the overall coffers.

In particular, this money goes to the DCCC. This is a branch of the DNC that specifically handles funding resources for Democratic nominees to the House of Representatives.

To date, AOC has paid 0 dollars to this fund. The DCCC has repeatedly approached her about paying her fair share, and she has responded with, “For me, personally, I’m not paying D-trip dues.”

When asked to elaborate, she explained, “One, I don’t agree with the policy around blacklisting groups that help progressive candidates. . . I think we need to evolve as a party and make room for that.”

These are empty excuses. Ocasio-Cortez accepted funds from the DCCC in order to win her seat in 2018, and she appears to be willing to accept funds from the group again this year. That means that they clearly aren’t blacklisting progressive candidates like herself. She just doesn’t want to pony up the cash.

This won’t surprise you — coming from a socialist like AOC — but her stance on paying DCCC dues is purely hypocritical. One of her leading positions is that we need to raise taxes on the wealthy to make them ‘pay their fair share.’ It’s a chief principle of socialism in general, and she still proudly proclaims to be a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t see a hint of irony in all of this. She attacks corporate donations, yet she accepts money from the DCCC that clearly includes corporate and PAC donations. She has also accepted plenty of money herself that didn’t come from individuals. Despite all of that, she sees no need to pay her fair share to the party that got her elected in the first place. She would happily accept more money from the DNC, but she won’t pay back into the coffers.

This isn’t about standing up for Democrats. They deserve everything AOC does wrong for them. They put her in power in the first place. Instead, the point of this story is to emphasize the rampant hypocrisy of every socialist. Bernie Sanders decried millionaires until he became one. Now, he says it’s just billionaires who are the bad guys.

AOC says that everyone needs to pay their fair share, but when it’s her turn, the rules don’t apply. It’s classic socialism and classic authoritarianism. The whole point is that everyone needs to contribute to her success and wealth. That’s the real endgame, the people be damned.
