Democrats Try to Dismiss the Fact that Obama Took Opposition Research from a Foreign Government Ahead of the 2016 Election

Recently, liberals lost their minds over a clip of Donald Trump saying that he would accept dirt on a political rival if it came from a foreign state. In the interview, the cited example was Norway. But the left-wing establishment ran with it as if Trump had said he would be happy to take information from Russia. He didn’t.

The President and ABC’s George Stephanopoulos were discussing a hypothetical situation where Trump was offered dirt on Joe Biden. To that Trump responded, saying “Okay, let’s put yourself in a position: you’re a congressman, somebody comes up and says, “Hey I have information on your opponent.” Do you call the FBI?”

Then Stephanopoulos asked, “If it’s coming from Russia you do. (accept the information?)”

In short, Stephanopoulos asked if Trump would take information from another country and Trump said he would. Then he asked if Trump would take the same info from Russia, and Trump said ‘no.’

But, of course, the media is cutting out the part of the response they don’t like and offering up the least charitable interpretation of the part of the statement they think is good for them. It’s typical cut and smear reporting, as usual.

Even more interesting, many left-wing outlets and opponents of the President are saying that taking oppo research from Norway is bad enough… and you know how they operate. If they say it’s bad long enough, people will get used to hearing it and accept it. So, they are now looking to use this as ammunition against President Trump.

Alright. Same crap, different day. But that’s not the story, that’s just the setup.

As it happens, Obama did the same thing in 2016 that Trump said he might do a few days ago. According to Zerohedge, “In July 2016, the Obama administration accepted unsolicited information from Alexander Downer, an Australian diplomat who happened to have helped arrange a $25 million government donation to the Clinton Foundation years before. Downer said that he had witnessed a Trump campaign aide, George Papadopoulos, bragging about some dirt that the Russians supposedly had on Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.”

In other words, the Obama administration did exactly the same thing Trump is accused of doing and did it to illegitimately promote Hillary Clinton’s bid for the White House.

So, while he was still President, Obama was actively campaigning for Hillary- which is a clear abuse of the office of the President. But to make matters worse, he was actually accepting unverified info from foreign actors sourced from Russia in order to secure the Democrat foothold in the Oval Office.

The Zerohedge article continues, “In October 2016, the Obama Justice Department approved a FISA warrant to spy on Trump through Carter Page. The primary evidence supporting the warrant was a dossier written by Christopher Steele, a retired MI6 agent from Britain. The Justice Department and the FBI neglected to tell the courts that Steele was working on behalf of the Clinton campaign.”

What this means is that Democrats who are barking for Donald Trump’s head on a plate, have to also call for legal action against former President Obama as well. Obama committed the very crimes that Democrats are upset President Trump said he might commit.

This means that they must seek an indictment against Obama.

Of course, we know they will do no such thing. Why? Because we have a two-tiered system of justice. It’s one system of justice for Republicans or anyone who is associated with President Trump. And another system of justice for Democrats or anyone towing the liberal line.
