Happy Most Expensive Fourth of July Cookout Ever from Joe Biden

Just one year ago was the last time the White House bragged about the US economy and what a great job Joe Biden was doing with it. But what they bragged about earned them widespread mockery. They claimed that they had done such a great job that American workers would be able to have a Fourth of July cookout for 16 cents less than it had cost them during the 2020 pandemic.

16 cents! Hope you didn’t spend all that in one place! Although they’re still gaslighting the American people this year, you don’t hear them doing much in the way of bragging like they did last summer.

In case you’ve forgotten, here is exactly what the idiots at the White House tweeted one year ago this week, complete with stupid food puns:

“Planning a cookout this year? Ketchup on the news. According to the Farm Bureau, the cost of a 4th of July BBQ is down from last year. It’s a fact you must-hear(d). Hot dog, the Biden economic plan is working. And that’s something we can all relish.”

Good grief. And the tweet was accompanied by a photograph of foods that many people cannot afford this year, with a caption that read, “The cost of a 4th of July cookout in 2021 is down $0.16 from last year.”

Gee, I wonder why the White House is not tweeting about what your Fourth of July cookout is going to cost this week? Oh… right. Awkward.

Everyone knew it was BS a year ago when the White House tweeted that the Biden economic plan was working. By the Fourth of July weekend, gas had increased by 42% to $3.15 a gallon in just the first six months of Biden’s “leadership.” (Up from an average $2.19 a gallon the day Trump left office.) If anything, prices were only vaguely stable at that point because he was still enjoying the tailwinds of the Trump economy, which Biden quickly strangled by crippling the oil and gas sector.

Here are some prices the Farm Bureau is not bragging about this year for everyone’s cookout. The price of hamburger is up 36% since the Fourth of July last year. Chicken is up 33%. Lemonade is up 22%. Gas has more than doubled since Joe Biden took office. It’s over $5 a gallon most places. I paid $6.19 the last time I fueled up the minivan where I live.

Many Americans probably had plans to fix something up around the house this summer, or to take a trip. Those plans evaporated over the past few months because of the Biden economic recession. The cost of basic living essentials has rocketed up so badly this year that people are now either trying to save their money by not re-shingling the roof or not going on a trip – or watching all their income get eaten up by Biden-flation.

Bed Bath & Beyond stores are scaling back their hours this summer because of Joe Biden. Those stores will be opening at 11 a.m. instead of 10 a.m., because that will allow them to use 7 hours less electricity each week. They’ll also be turning down the A/C because it’s too expensive to operate.

It doesn’t take some sort of rocket scientist to know why were already in a terrible recession because of Joe Biden. He strangled oil and gas production. That’s it. Printing $1.9 trillion for “COVID” so that relatives of Members of Congress didn’t help either, since that needlessly inflated the currency. But most of the problem has been energy related.

When you deliberately double the price of gas and diesel in less than a year, it drives the cost of everything else up. It costs more to manufacture everything. It costs more to ship everything. It costs more to store food in a refrigerated place until it can be sold to consumers. It costs more for retail outlets to keep the lights and A/C on. And so forth.

It would be easy to turn this around right now. Biden could start drilling and the price of gas and diesel would stabilize immediately. Drill enough, and the price would start to fall. But he’s not doing that.
