North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee announced on Tuesday he has left the Democratic Party. He claimed the party has been taken over by socialists and has now joined the Republican Party due to its focus on opportunity and freedom.
Lee’s announcement first came on his campaign website. He later shared an interview with Fox & Friends to discuss his concerns.
Nevada’s Democrats “had an election recently for leadership, and four of the five people were card carrying members of the Socialist Party,” Lee said. “It’s not the party that I grew up with 25 years ago in this environment, and it’s not the party I can stand with anymore.”
The mayor warned Democrats have claimed an extremist agenda far different than the party’s past held. “Their ideas hurt working class families, restrict freedom, and extinguish opportunity for millions of Americans – particularly working class minorities who deserve the chance to give their families a better life,” Lee wrote.
The former Democrat even referred to former President Donald Trump in a positive manner, breaking completely from the Democrat hatefest against the twice-impeached leader. “The Republican Party that’s emerged from President Trump’s leadership is a working class party of opportunity, freedom, and hope.”
Lee concluded his interview with Steve Doocy with the words, “When you’re a pro-life Democrat, a pro-gun Democrat, and you’re a very conservative person, that’s not really well known in the Democratic Party anymore. And so for me to hang on, as long as I did, hoping the party would change. It didn’t, it got worse.”
He added, “So therefore, I found a new place that I can put my allegiance to and help once again, forget about the last eight years. It’s the next four years that predict the future.”
Lee may not be the last Democrat to make the switch. After less than 80 days into his administration, President Joe Biden has pushed for a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus bill, of which less than 10 percent actually directly assists in pandemic recovery.
The bill was almost immediately followed by Biden’s newly-proposed $2 trillion infrastructure plan. Biden claims it will revolutionize America’s roads and transportation, yet the bulk of the money goes to fund Democrats socialist agenda items and to bail out blue states.
Biden’s bills cement him not as the unifier in chief, the platform he campaigned on, but rather as the most progressive/socialist president in history. Many have simply labelled his term Obama 2.0.
They may be right. White House press secretary Jen Psaki revealed this week that Biden and former President Barack Obama regularly talk, but she would not mention their topics of conversation. Could it have to do with Obama’s ongoing plans to destroy America through rampant immigration, eroding traditional American values and ramping up spending to deepen the nation’s debt?
It wouldn’t be surprising at all. Nor would it be a surprise to discover many more Democrats, ranging from political leaders to patriotic citizens, fleeing the socialist agenda of the left for a Republican home that supports the values that have made the nation great.
Thank the Lord! Praying for more Christians to abandon the hate feasting Democratic Party. I was a Democrats for 30 years and begin to see the rights of Christians deteriorating when President Obama took office. Obama spreader the hate toward President trump, stoking the fire of a broken America. I pray his judgment for this evil come back upon him (by the hand of God not man). As soon as possible. I was always Independent, but voting for Obama was the last draw for me. The Dems are no longer a true party but rather being taken over by a combination of groups that are no good for this Country if we want to remain the U.S.A. They are all about total takeover of the people in this Country, and unfortunately we have too many busy soles who don’t have time to understand what’s been going on right in front of our eyes. Trump was promising, who if allowed to continue would have made great strides in a second term. The Dems did what they had to do to get him out. The worst thing Americans ever did was elect Barack Obama president, not once but twice. We will undoubtably pay for that mistake for many decades to come. Perhaps much longer than that. We now are beginning to realize the corruption he brought to our wonderful country. Finally! His orchestrated corruption which nearly destroyed this nation and yet many so called democrats still cannot see his destructive practices. The followers at his meeting just five days before he took office cheered wildly when he announced his fundamental transformation plan for America. Not one person within that group asked transformation into what? They just cheered wildly at such a thought! Then, in his very next breath he also promised a federal police force just as well funded, trained and equipped as the US military. Again nothing but wild cheers. I did not hear any questions about that as well. Did you?
Why was such a police force going to be needed? Could it have been because that transformation was going to be into a socialist communist country and he knew that would take force to put in place here in the United States of America? So in essence the duties of such a police force would consist of the same duties as those of the German Brown Shirts who secured Adolph Hitler’s power in 1930’s in Germany.
However, Obama taught the democrats a lesson that day. By not explaining either promise which could have cost him followers (votes) he did not explain either and so all his followers put in place their own explanation and everyone was happy with it. No discontent what-so-ever! Amazingly even today!
Just because Obama is now out of office and biden is in does not mean in any way his fundamental transformation is not the goal of these communist posing as democrats. Their intention is to destroy the constitution, our economic system (free enterprise) and installing a socialist government. Either communist, marxist or fascist!
So far this take over has been nearly bloodless however that will soon end. The United States of America is an armed nation and no one knows for sure what would or will happen should millions of citizens organize into a well regulated militia as the second amendment states. There are some democrats left in the democrats party but very few. Democrats like Alan Dershowitz are few and far between.
