The Difference between President Trump and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Immigration Plans Tells You Everything You Need to Know about Liberal Policy

Everyone is talking about Ukraine and impeachment, but there are other things happening in the world. We have an active Congressional session happening right now. Policy is being written every day, and we should probably check in on that every once in a while.

To that end, we’re going to look at immigration policy. The border crisis may be past its peak, but it isn’t finished. In light of that, two leading politicians, AOC and President Trump, have announced their plans to help the immigration crisis. Let’s take a look.

The Trump Plan

A new official order is set to take effect at the start of November. This policy will suspend immigration entry to anyone who “will financially burden the United States healthcare system.” It’s pretty straightforward. If a person’s entry would likely result in state-sponsored health care, that entry will be denied. It’s worth noting that this policy will not be extended to anyone granted asylum or refugee status.

It won’t completely scrap taxpayers like you and me from having to pay for illegal alien’s healthcare, but it’s a great start. Taxpayers spend billions of dollars every year on medical expenses for immigrants. This one policy won’t completely end that trend, but it’s definitely a positive step in the right direction.

The AOC Plan

Meanwhile, AOC has an immigration plan of her own. While President Trump is trying to solve the problem of runaway spending on people who don’t contribute to the country (a.k.a. illegal immigrants), AOC is convinced that the solution to all of our problems can be found in an opposite approach. Her latest legislation proposes that we grant all welfare assistance to all immigrants.

Note the lack of restriction on that. She wants full Medicare/Medicaid, housing assistance, food stamps, Social Security and all the rest for immigrants.

Note, again, the lack of restrictions. She isn’t limiting this to legal residents. She wants to extend these benefits to every single illegal immigrant, even convicted rapists and killers who join MS-13.

The two policies could not possibly be more different. Which one appeals to you? Do you like the idea of immigration that is grounded in mathematical sustainability, or do you want open borders that bankrupt our entire economy in an effort to offer handouts to the masses? It’s a pretty easy question when you take it at face value, but sadly, millions of Americans will praise AOC and condemn President Trump.

This is why mid-terms matter, by the way. It wouldn’t be fair to blame you, specifically, for the election of AOC, but she should serve as motivation in the future. America won’t survive more of her.
