WOW! Left-Wing Media Begs for “Forgiveness” After Years of Name-Calling, Firings, and Lies

After years of threatening and intimidating those who refused to comply with Democrat’s COVID policies, the liberal media is now hoping you will simply forget about everything they did and move on – hoping to avoid any retribution for the atrocities committed under the guise of ‘public health.’

Democrats and their media apparatus called anyone who didn’t comply with their orders “grandma killers” as they pushed extended lockdowns, school closures, mandatory masking, forced vaccinations, fired anyone who didn’t get their jab and kept them from entering restaurants and polite society. And now that we know it was all garbage they refuse to apologize (and stop lying) and want us to just move on and forget what they did to us over the past two and a half years.

A piece published by The Atlantic calls for “pandemic amnesty,” saying “we need to forgive one another for what we did and said when we were in the dark about COVID.”

The author, Brown Professor Emily Oster, was herself a huge proponent of lockdowns and isn’t exactly being truthful about “being in the dark.” At the time that she and others were doing things like calling for more mandates there were a number of real sources pointing to studies that proved these things were ineffective when it came to countering the virus.

However, media and big-tech partnered with the Biden administration to silence those sources by all means necessary.

“Let’s acknowledge that we made complicated choices in the face of deep uncertainty, and then try to work together to build back and move forward,” she continues.

Unfortunately for Oster and others who helped propagate the COVID fear campaign, people are not ready to “forgive” just yet.

The Daily Sceptic‘s Michael P. Senger responded to the piece saying, “There’s a lot wrong here. First, no, you don’t get to advocate policies that do extraordinary harm to others, against their wishes, then say, “We didn’t know any better at the time!” Ignorance doesn’t work as an excuse when the policies involved abrogating your fellow citizens’ rights under an indefinite state of emergency, while censoring and cancelling those who weren’t as ignorant.”

He continued, “The inevitable result would be a society in which ignorance and obedience to the opinion of the mob would be the only safe position.”

Oster’s’ plea for forgiveness seems to come as the tide is turning in favor of those who have remained skeptical of the mainstream COVID narrative.

Just last week, Fox News reported, “The premier of Alberta, Canada, said she is working on a plan to pardon residents who were fined or arrested over breaking coronavirus protocols, and apologized to unvaccinated Canadians who faced ‘discrimination.’”

In New York, a Supreme Court judge recently ruled that all employees who were fired from their jobs for being unvaccinated should be reinstated immediately and receive backpay.

The court found that “being vaccinated does not prevent an individual from contracting or transmitting COVID-19.” New York City Mayor Eric Adams claimed earlier this year that his administration would not rehire employees who had been fired over their vaccination status.

The narrative they have been pushing on us is falling apart and it couldn’t be clearer – they’re in an all-out panic over what the backlash could look like.
